Focusing on knowledge transfer from academia to industry

TechniTex, the technical textiles Faraday Partnership (see also, box page 8), has been transformed into an organization responsible for research and technology transfer for the UK’s textile and clothing industry. Driven by an industry-led board of management and a high-profile chairman, the venture recently moved into new premises in Manchester and now employs a number of people to help build bridges between academia and industry. At the same time, the Partnership has been rebranded with a new logo and web-site.
