Yimin Qin of the Biochemical Materials Research and Development Center, Jiaxing College, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, China, discussed the antimicrobial properties of silver-containing chitosan fibres. These were made by blending silver-containing particles of AlphaSan RC5000 (a sodium hydroxide zirconium phosphate) in the spinning dope.
