Stronger stretch-broken yarns
A stretch-breaking process for continuously making strong spun yarns is the subject of International Patent WO 2006/020404. Stowe-Pharr Mills Inc, the applicant, says a key feature of its method is that no intermediate processes are performed between the stretch-breaking and spinning phases, which helps to maintain the alignment and minimize the damage to the staple fibres.
