A highly conformable and absorbent polymeric foam wound dressing is disclosed in US Patent 6 787 682 by Hollister. The dressing is particularly useful in preventing pooling of fluid in a draining wound while at the same time maintaining surrounding skin surfaces in a relatively dry state, says the company of Libertyville, Illinois, USA.
