Patented fibre technology called Zelfo, owned by Omodo GmbH, transforms 100% renewable or recycled cellulose fibres into self-binding structures, with much potential for use as composite materials. At the forthcoming 8th Conference of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), which will be held from 18th-19 May in Wesseling near Cologne in Germany, Omodo's Richard Hurding will explain that Zelfo micro and nanofibre structures can be as light as cork or as dense as PVC and are available as a sheet material or in injection mouldable form.
