In 2005 the global market for hospital textiles, which include bedding, uniforms, operating theatre materials, curtains, upholstery, wound dressings and bandages, and compression stockings, was valued at Euro5.08 billion. This is forecast to rise by 4.5% a year to Euro6.4 billion in 2010, of which Euro4 billion is for surgical applications and Euro2.4 billion for other medical end-uses*.
