A cast or support assembly that incorporates a doubleknit (spacer) padding material (12) has been developed by Ossur. According to the company of Reykjavik, Iceland, the outer layer is woven or knitted to have substantially sized openings, while the inner layer of double-knit material located against the skin of the patient is more closely woven or knitted.
