A cast or support for use in limiting movement of the anatomy to promote healing of an injured body part has been developed by Ossur. Besides offering the required immobilization, the device provides a hardenable, removable support configuration that increases patient comfort and allows periodic access to the anatomy for washing, changing dressings, X-raying or doctor evaluation.
