Jointly developed by Biteam AB of Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Department of Lightweight Structures at Sweden's Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, a three-dimensional (3D) loom became operational on 21 January 2009. The loom's developers have heralded it as the first such industrial machine in the world.
