Medical device manufacturer Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company, has announced launch of the Proceed Ventral Patch. The device is described as the first and only umbilical hernia repair device featuring lighterweight mesh and exclusive, absorbable deployment technology. It is indicated for use in umbilical, epigastric, small ventral and trocar site hernias.
