A thermally bondable conjugate fibre specifically engineered for use in the formation of carded webs is the result of work at Japan's Teijin Fibres Ltd. The company from Osaka claims its fibre is highly adhesive after heat treatment, but hardly shrinks. It also has a low orientation and high elongation, and passes the carding process satisfactorily.
