Hollow-core fibres that exhibit an antimicrobial effect have been developed by Eastman Chemical. The fibres can be used as an absorbent or fluid transfer component in, for instance, absorbent articles, such as diapers, training pants, sanitary napkins, tampons and incontinence articles, as well as bandages, bed pads and sweat absorbing pads.
