Fitesa, a Brazil-based company that describes itself as one of the world's biggest manufacturers of polypropylene (PP) nonwovens, is to invest $120 million to build a North American operation in Laurens County, South Carolina, USA. The company, which is owned by the Brazilian petrochemical group Petropar, makes nonwovens using a variety of technologies. This investment will construct a 2.1 ha (225 000 square foot) facility at the Owings Industrial Park, with the potential for expansion. Fitesa is the first tenant at the Park.
