A high-stretch, low-dilation knitted prosthetic device has been developed by the SciMed division of Boston Scientific. The textile graft disclosed in US Patent 7 364 587 incorporates reoriented radially extended yarn to increase resistance against dilation,while maintaining such desirable properties as longitudinal stretchability.
