According to EDANA, the international association serving the nonwovens and related products industries, production of nonwovens in Greater Europe (Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Commonwealth of Industrial States) grew by 7.3% in 2007 to reach 1.65 Mt. This compares with 1.54 Mt in 2006 when the annual growth was 7.1%. The total turnover of the European nonwovens industry is estimated at Euro5.41 billion.
