One of the world's leading manufacturers of tyres has devised a method to modify fibre cords to make them more adhesive to rubber. In European Patent Application EP 1 876 286,Bridgestone Corp ofTokyo, Japan, claims its treatment is faster, and so more productive, and causes less degradation of the fibre than conventional processes.
