Metallized wound dressings for restoring the electrobiological activity of tissue systems have been developed by Argentum Medical. The devices are said to enhance tissue healing and reduce the perception of pain by passively influencing the electrical parameters of the injured tissue. They may also exhibit antibacterial and antifungal efficacy, says the company of Willowbrook, Illinois, USA.
