The Institut fur Textiltechnik der RWTH Aachen (ITA), Aachen, Germany, has put into operation a new piston spinning plant, reports Chemical Fibers International (5/2006). Supplied by fibre machinery producer Fourne Polymertechnik, the equipment allows synthetic fibres to be spun for medical applications.
