According to EDANA,the international association serving the nonwovens and related products industries, production of nonwovens in Europe grew by just over 5% to 1.40 million tonnes in 2005. This compares with 1.34 million tonnes in 2004, when the annual growth was 3.7%. The total turnover of the European nonwovens industry is estimated at around Euro4.61 billion.
