An arm sling that allows part of the patient's limb to extend from a portion of the sling for either exercise or use of the limb or hand has been developed by Carol Scudere of Columbus, Ohio, USA. The remainder of the limb or shoulder is supported by the sling without increasing pressure on the patient's neck.
