Mechanically divisible fibres having at least one component including poly(lactide acid) and at least a second of aromatic polyester are the subject of US Patent 6 780 357. Patent Assignee Fiber Innovation Technology Inc of Johnson City, Tennessee, USA, says the fibres are useful in the manufacture of nonwovens, particularly for structures used as synthetic suede or filter media.
