Japan is now taking nanocellulose extremely seriously, with around 100 companies actively involved in working together to develop it as a next generation material. According to a report in Japanese paper The Yomiuri Shimbun, the country's Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry has contacted manufacturers who may use nanocellulose in the future and established a study group involving both the public and private sectors.
