In November last year, 200 tons of fresh water was transported 16 nautical miles across the Gulf of Souda, on the island of Crete, in a fabric bag 20 metres long and four metres wide. This was a trial run for the prototype Refresh container developed by a consortium of companies and research organisations under the EU FP7 project of the same name.
