The 2010 Millennium Technology Prize has been won by Professor Michael Gratzel, Director of the Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), for his development of dye-sensitized solar cells. Finland's President Tarja Halonen recently presented the Euro800,000 grand prize and trophy to Dr Gratzel during a grand award ceremony at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki.
