In the short term, growth in technical textiles in India will be in outerwear and protective clothing, sportswear and medical products, according to Neeraj Karhade of India Private Equity Partners (IPEP). "Eventually, however, we expect areas such as nonwovens, digital printing and composites to really evolve," he told delegates at the recent 5th 'How to Enter Technical Textiles Markets' conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. "And we expect growth rates of 30% and higher over the next five years."
