    From sports to work

    Fibre manufacturer Advansa reports that multi-functional textiles initially developed for sportswear are increasingly being employed in workwear. Knitted fabric and carrier substrate specialist Fuchshuber Techno-Tex, for example, based in Lichtenstein, Germany, has introduced a two-layer protective material called Cutex, which has been employed in apparel for sports such as short track speed skating, but is also being used in cut resistant underwear for sectors such as the glass industry.
