Which? - the leading independent consumer champion in the UK - is calling for greater transparency over nanomaterials ahead of the presentation of evidence into a UK government enquiry into nanotechnologies and food. "By the UK government's own admission, voluntary reporting on the use of nanomaterials hasn't worked," said Michelle Smyth, Public Affairs Manager at Which?. "A mandatory reporting scheme would encourage greater transparency from the food industry and enable consumers to make informed choices about the food they are putting in their mouths."
