STFI applies for photochromic nonwovens patent

Spunbonded nonwovens with photochromic properties have been developed at the Saxon Textile Research Institute (STFI) in Germany. The photochromic colours are based on masterbatches which are embedded into the resin during the meltspinning process. As a consequence, colour activation caused by UV radiation such as sunlight is equally distributed within the nonwoven fabric.
