Having just announced the successful start up of a new Nomex production unit at its facility in Asturias, Spain, DuPont is introducing a patented new smart fibre technology. Nomex On Demand - initially intended for use in thermal liners in firefighter turnout gear - is able to respond to emergency conditions and automatically expand to trap more air for greater thermal insulation.
