Under a contract from the European Space Agency (ESA), the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) has designed and developed a long term monitoring system (LTMS). This is currently being employed at the Concordia Base in Antarctica to study the physiological adaptation of manned crews in remote, isolated and extreme environments.
