WL Gore's new Infinit Mesh is billed as the first 100% monofilament, large-pore knitted surgical mesh constructed entirely of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The chemical inertness of the PTFE polymer in a large-pore structure is said to offer significant advantages over polypropylene and polyester meshes. The product is engineered to minimise foreign body reaction and maximise long-term patient comfort and quality of life with performance that lasts.
