The board of trustees of the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) and the board of The Textile Institute (TI), both charitable organisations in the field of science, technology and knowledge transfer, have announced a proposal to form a merged organisation. Trustees from the two UK-based membership charities have agreed the principles of joining forces, paving the way for further internal consultations and the preparation of a formal merger agreement.
