Sensors will be extensively employed in the new synthetic grass pitch installed for footbal club Heracles at Almelo in The Netherlands, to measure hours of play, impact on the pitch and the state of pitch maintenance. Using the measuring data, advice will regularly be given to the technical staff of Heracles Almelo by the manufacturers of the pitch, and at the same time it is believed it will also provide input for new developments and innovations in synthetic turf.
