    Awnings save energy
Pike Awning Co built 13 stationary residential awnings in Lake Oswego, Oregon, USA, to provide exterior window treatments for this lake side home.

A new study conducted by the University of Minnesota’s, Center for Sustainable Building Research will determine what impact awnings have in saving energy in homes. The study, funded by the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA), is being conducted to investigate the energy savings for single family homes in terms of heat gain, energy costs in heating and cooling, and the reduction of energy use during peak periods.
