NaturalNano has filed a US patent application for advances in the production of nanocomposites in the polymers and plastics industry. Clay found in Utah contains a rich content of halloysite nanotubes - natural nanomaterials with remarkable properties. A team of scientists at New York-headquartered NaturalNano is now developing methods of separating out the nanotubes and processing them for use in some 200 commercial applications, such as additives in polymers and plastics, electronic components, cosmetics and absorbents.
