Cooperating with Christian Eschler has given Trevira an insight into the reasons whyone of the few Swiss companies still making textiles continues to enjoy success... When US skier Tommy Moe won the Olympic downhill race in Lillehammer by just a few hundredths of a second, the development staff at Christian Eschler AG could well congratulate themselves too: as the maker of the special laminates for the racing suits worn by the American team, they had optimized the material, using countless wind tunnel tests. The resultant surface design brought an improvement in speed by the decisive margin. Looking back with pleasure on the moment, Managing Director Peter Eschler says "It’s a tremendous recognition when a sportsman tells us he’s won thanks to a perfect finish on his suit."..
