World textile fibres production to reach 37.8 million tonnes in the year 2003

Global mill consumption of manufactured fibres will increase 5.4% a year to reach 37.8 million tonnes in 2003, according to the latest survey from Freedonia.

Man-made fibres will continue to expand their market share at the expense of natural fibres. However, production of man-made fibres will rise at a slower rate of 5.1% a year as overstocked inventories are reduced...
